The Exchange Club of Gloucester-Mathews was officially chartered last Wednesday, March 15, with 30 members in a program at Gloucester Library, Main Street Center.
Leading the Exchange Club members as they serve the community are president Steve Kreiger, president-elect Joseph Spohn, treasurer Nancy Deptola and secretary Lynn Arway.
The new club will serve the community through Exchange’s Programs of Service—Americanism, Community Service and Youth Programs—as well as the organization’s National Project, the prevention of child abuse.
The Gloucester-Mathews club was sponsored and built by Jesse and Carol Wood of the Exchange Club of Poquoson, and Susan Brewer of the Exchange Club of Peninsula Networking, VA, who worked closely with Kreiger over the past year to get it established. The official appointment, known as the Club Opening Event, was performed by Brewer who is a National Volunteer Field Representative.
