BOARD RETREAT: The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will hold a board retreat from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the press room of County Office Building One at 6467 Main Street.
CHILI COOK-OFF: The eighth annual Chili Cook-Off, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Mathews, will be held from 4:30-7 p.m. Saturday at the Piankatank Ruritan Club, Hudgins. Various organizations will compete for the title of “Best Chili” while raising money for a good cause. Tickets for the all-you-can-eat meal of chili, cornbread, and dessert are $20. The are available at mathewsrotaryclub.org, the Mathews Visitor Center, Haskins Bayside Service Center in Port Haywood, and Chesapeake Bank in Mathews.
