Evelyne Louise Buck, loving wife and mother, aged 81, of Duluth, Ga., formerly of Ashburn, Va., fell asleep in the Lord at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cancer Home, Atlanta, Ga., on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John Seawell Buck; her son, Phillip Anthony Buck, and two grandchildren, Emmeline Louise Buck and Phillip John Buck.
She is survived by her children, Ronald A. Buck (Linda), Winchester, Va., Bryan D. Buck (Elizabeth), Stephens City, Va., Jane Cunningham (Dan), Duluth, and Kendall Shomaker (Robin), South Riding, Va.; her grandchildren, Ronnie Buck, Jeremy Buck, Devon Buck, Theresia Buck, Heather Aikens, Rebecca Winfield, Sarah Buck, Bryan Buck II, Thomas Buck, Phoebe Buck, David Carrington, and Nicole Cunningham, and her great-grandchildren, Johnathan Buck, Lacey Aikens, Wesley Aikens, Hannah Aikens, David Aikens, Blake Aikens, Taylor Aikens, Kolten Winfield, Kadynce Winfield, Rose Taylor and Jace Jones.
The family received visitors at Bill Head Funeral Home, 3088 Highway 120, Duluth, Ga., on Sunday, Oct. 5, from 5:30-8 p.m. The family prayed the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 7 p.m. followed by Panachida, offered by Father Philip Scott, who also celebrated the funeral Divine Liturgy at Epiphany of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, 2030 Old Alabama Road, Roswell, Ga., Monday, Oct. 6, at 10 a.m. Following the Liturgy, the family received friends in the parish narthex.
Graveside funeral service officiated by the Rev. James Cowles was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at Abingdon Episcopal Church Cemetery.
