EVA CLEMENTS HOGGE BELVIN

Eva Clements Hogge Belvin, 83, of Hayes, passed to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Walter Reed Convalescent Center. Eva was born in Gloucester County to the late Herman Franklin and Virginia Brown Hogge. Eva was a member of Union Baptist Church where one of her greatest joys was singing with the Worship Choir. Eva also joined other church groups who visited the convalescent center to bring joy to the residents through singing. Eva kept a list of birth dates for family members and friends, and she would be one of the first to call and sing “Happy Birthday” and wish you a blessed year. Two of Eva’s closest friends, Evelyn Crump and Margaret Robbins, enjoyed many hours together with Eva; visiting, dining out, singing, sharing memories, and enjoying each other’s company right up until the day before her passing. A special thank-you is extended to many others who helped Eva in various ways over the past several years. In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her son, James Roland Moore Jr.; her husband, Edward Belvin, and her brother, Everette Wayne Hogge. Eva is survived by a niece, Elizabeth Faye Kellum. A memorial service, conducted by Pastor Jared Berry, will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Union Baptist Church. In memory of Eva, contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church, 9254 Guinea Road, Hayes, Va. 23072 or Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 9, Bena, Va. 23018.
