Esther Lillian Horsley Teagle, 89, of Gloucester, died March 30, 2014 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital surrounded by her loving family. 

Esther owned and operated Teagle Catering Service for over 30 years. 

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Teagle Sr.; her parents, Otis and Mildred Horsley, as well as her siblings, Hazel Dunston, Margriette Leigh, Herman Horsley Sr., Norman Horsley and Dorothy Johnston, all of Gloucester.

Esther was a loving mother to her three sons and their wives, John Lewis Teagle Jr. and Brenda Miller Teagle of Gloucester, Ronald K. Teagle and Cheryl Prince Teagle of Hartfield, Larry F. Teagle and Cheryl Harvey Teagle of Gloucester. She will be sorely missed by her grandchildren, Nicole McPherson and husband Brian of Hayes, Justin Teagle and his wife Krystal of Gloucester, Jeff Teagle and his wife Dana of Gloucester, Carla Faulkner and her husband Curt of Mathews, and Ashley Teagle Penick of Mathews. Great-grandchildren include Carson and Cooper Teagle, Kaylee Teagle, Ella Faulkner, Liam Penick and Catelyn McPherson. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Dutton and her husband Eugene of Williamsburg; her sisters-in-law, Jessie Horsley and Louise Horsley, both of Gloucester, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, from 6:30-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday in the funeral home at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Clint Miller. Burial will be in Bellamy United Methodist Church Cemetery.
