God called home another special angel. Our mother Esther Green Dawson of Gloucester, left us for heaven on August 26, 2023 to be with Jesus and her two daughters, Jan Morgan (passed 3-3-2021) and Cathie Coates Brown (passed 12-14-2022); two sisters, Louise Green Jenkins and Vernetta R. Green; her brother, Franklin Green, and her loving parents, James Edward (Ned) Green and Ida Mae Bonneville Green.

Family meant everything to her. Left to cherish the memories of her are three sons, Mark A. Coates, Roger D. Coates (Linda) and William (Brad) Dawson (Tina); two daughters, Angela (Angie) Sterling Jones (Nelson) and Maria Ford Tanner; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two nieces, Nancy Jenkins Duty (Pete) and Diane Jenkins Berry (Russell).

No one can take her place and there will never be another mother like her. Mom loved her family with all her heart and touched many lives. Mom will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.

There will forever be a piece of our hearts missing without her here with us.

Rest easy, Mom, we know you will be walking beside us until it’s our turn to be called home to heaven. We love and forever miss you, Mom.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
