As the nation begins to make plans for the upcoming semiquincentennial in 2026, Essex and Hanover counties will get an early start on the festivities with special commemorations of two of the early steps on the road to the American Revolution.
In Tappahannock
The 250th Anniversary Commemoration of the Essex Resolutions will take place from 2 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, in the Max Silver Memorial Courtyard, which is located at 139 Prince Street in Tappahannock.
The event is free to the public, and beer, wine, and refreshments will be available for purchase. The project is supported, in part, by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission. For more information, visit ecmhs.org.
