Eric Speray will represent Gloucester High School at the Group AAA State Cross Country Meet Saturday in Great Meadow. Speray placed 14th overall in the Eastern Region meet last Thursday with a personal best time of 16:35.
Speray helped lead the Gloucester boys to an eighth place finish overall in the regional meet with a score of 188.
He was followed by his twin brother Kevin who was 31st overall in 17:16. Logan Pitchford ran a 17:53 for the Dukes, Tyler Price posted 18:04, Blake Waters came in at 18:08 and Tyler Lothian was 97th overall in 19:23.
With two of their top runners injured, the Gloucester girls did not have their best outing at the regional. Elisabeth Drake ran a good race and finished 28th overall in 20:38. Carrie Adams, Ashley Purrington, Leah Procopi, Kathryn Prochnow, Caroline Parker and Ashley Harvey also competed for the Dukes.
