“I like to see people enjoy what they are eating. I have a passion for cooking,” confides Chris Thomas, the chef you have seen on YouTube and Facebook when watching “Library Kitchen” online.
Sponsored by Gloucester Library, this food program was initiated by Lisa Thomas, adult program planner for the library.
“We thought people would see the cooking, hear the recipes and would then seek the library and their many cookbooks for more,” she said.
With humble beginnings in 2020, Library Kitchen has developed into a sophisticated food show. A filming studio is set in place in part of the library’s community room. Chris does the cooking along with instructions, recipes, commentaries and helpful hints as John Ayers does the filming and Lisa acts as director. If mistakes are made, no problem. Filming is redone and John splices the film for a perfect show.
