The 2017 Empty Bowls fundraiser for Hands Across Mathews will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Bay School Community Arts Center, Main Street, Mathews.
This is the fourth year that the organizations have come together to fill the local food bank and provide holiday meals to those in need. There are nearly 300 handmade pottery bowls this year, crafted by professional artisans and novice volunteers. An assortment of soups, breads, and cookies will be served during the luncheon.
A $15 ticket includes a handcrafted bowl and a simple lunch of soup and bread.
As many tickets as there are bowls will be sold. Additional servings of soup may be purchased for $5, and donations are welcome and appreciated.
Tickets may be reserved at bayschool-arts.com or purchased at the gallery. All proceeds go directly to Hands Across Mathews.
