A line of people look over a selection of beautiful handmade bowls to choose from on Sunday morning at this year’s Empty Bowls fundraiser. The 11th annual event, which was held at the Bay School Community Arts Center, raised $14,634 for Hands Across Mathews. Local artisans created the bowls which were selected by donors, who then went inside to fill them with a variety of homemade soups. According to a social media post from the Bay School, there are still plenty of bowls still remaining, and will be available at the Bay School during Friday’s Holiday Night Market and, if still available, at Mathews Farmers’ Market, Saturday. “They make great gifts,” the post said.
