EMORY ‘E.W.’ W. EVANS JR.

Emory “E.W.” W. Evans Jr., 83, of Gloucester, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at home with his family by his side. Born on August 6, 1940 in Roanoke, Va. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Annette, and brother, Ronnie. He is survived by his cute blonde Baby Doll; his daughter, Rebecca Cameron, and his son, Douglas Evans; his brother, Jerry (Faye) and sister-in-law Ellen; his grandchildren, Amber (John), Brandy (William), Bruce, Jason (Ashley), Stephanie (Junius), Zachary, Destiny, Phedre, Liam, William, Uriah, and Trinity, and 18 great-grandchildren. E.W. was a beloved member of Petsworth Baptist Church. He was in the Coast Guard for 25 years and retired to work for Virginia Power. E.W. was a founding member of White Marsh Baptist and helped to build it. The family received friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Sunday, July 28, 2024, from 3-4 p.m., and services were held on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 2 p.m., conducted by Pastor John Pouchot, followed by interment at Windsor Gardens. E.W. would be best memorialized by contributions made to Petsworth Baptist Church, 2471 Hickory Fork Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
