Ellie Armistead named CCS head softball coach

Former Mathews High School standout softball player Ellie Armistead has been named the new head coach of Christchurch School’s team.
The Middlesex County private school launched its inaugural season in 2024, with her former Mathews High School softball coach Robert Thomas at the helm.
A 2020 MHS graduate, Armistead went on to earn a full softball scholarship to the University of Georgia, where she started four years at shortstop, was an honor roll student, and was in the Leadership Program.
“I am so excited to name Coach Armistead head coach of our new softball program,” said John Dehm, CCS Director of Athletics and Co-Curricular Programs. “There was so much excitement around our first season last spring when we finished fourth in the state. Coach Armistead will nurture the program and bring even more energy to it.”
