Raised in Middlesex County, Va., Liz lived for many years in Bena and Gloucester Point, Va., before moving to Flagler Beach, Fla., to be with her beloved nephew, Steve Irby and his wife, Irene.
In 2005, she moved to Macon, Ga., to be near her daughter, Sandra.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Irby of Powhatan, Va.; daughter, Sandra Thomas (Tom) of Macon, Ga.; sister, Anne Crockett; brothers, Richard Parker (Grace) and Larry Parker (Joyce), and Jacki Saccucci of Titusville, Fla., whom she loved as another daughter. Additionally, she is survived by grandchildren, Jay Collins of Las Vegas, Nev., Tiffany Collins, of Macon, Ga., and Kimberly Irby of Vancouver, Wash., and four great-grandchildren, Jesse, Journee, and Christian Collins, and Gracie Willis.
A faithful Christian, Liz was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (“Bannie”), great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She will be missed more than words can express.
To those who wish to pay tribute to Liz, she would have been happy for them to simply offer a kind word or deed to someone in need. By doing so, the world will be a better place, and Liz’s memory will live on.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 1 p.m., April 3, 2014 at Union Baptist Church, 9254 Guinea Road, Hayes, Va. Private interment will be in Deltaville, Va., at a later date.
