Elizabeth Machen White George, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, surrounded by family and friends.
She was a native of Mathews, and a Poquoson resident for 26 years. She retired in 2003 as a nurse’s aide at Eastern State Hospital, Williamsburg after 13 years.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas George, and parents, Lena and Earl White.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Reynolds of Ocala, Fla. and Wayne Schucker of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Judy Buffington and husband Chuck of Poquoson; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 13, 6-7 p.m., at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, immediately followed by a memorial service at 7 o’clock at the funeral home by Pastor Dan Cromer.
A graveside service will be on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. at Providence Cemetery, Mathews.
At other times the family will be at her daughter’s home, 722 Yorktown Road, Poquoson.
