Elizabeth Hoskins Hudgins, 90, passed away on May 5, 2023 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She will be remembered as a beloved Mother, Author, Teacher, and Wife of 72 years.

Left to cherish her memory: her husband, James Hudgins Sr.; children, James Hudgins Jr., David Hudgins (wife Sheri) of Tarboro, N.C., Lisa Schwiech of Isle, Minn., Anne Myers (Lewis Myers III) of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Corey Hudgins, Maggie Davis, Lewis Myers IV, Daniel Myers, Joseph Myers, Monica Schwiech, Amber Barnes; foster child, Delores Pothier; nine great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Jean Gatlin and Margaret Story.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Marian Hugate; two brothers, David and Milton Hugate, and daughter, Donna Hudgins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation in Elizabeth’s memory. Family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown, Great Neck Chapel, Virginia Beach, on Friday, May 12, 2023. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1 o’clock.
