Elaine Hudgins Nash, 80, passed peacefully to her Heavenly home on February 8, 2024 in Richmond, Virginia. She was born October 5, 1943 in Mathews, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Captain Russell Hudgins and Thelma Hudgins, and her brother, Captain Elton Hudgins. She is survived by her sister, Audrey Hudgins Wright (Henry J.); her son, Russell Bell; her granddaughter, Charlotte Bell; numerous nieces; nephews, and cousins.

Elaine, a graduate of Mathews High School, was May Queen 1962 and later she was selected Miss Mathews. She enjoyed careers of fashion modeling and interior decorating. Upon retirement, gardening became her passion and her home was filled with orchids and plants. Born in Mathews of seafarers, Elaine’s earthly love was the Bay and environs.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
