Elaine Howard-Dillard of Newport News, Va., passed unexpectedly on Friday, June 9, 2023.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Dillard Sr.; children, Joseph “JoeJoe” Dillard Jr. and Ashley Dillard; siblings, Barbara Howard, Alvin Howard, Arthur Howard, D. Yvonne Patton and Harold Howard; and one granddaughter, Destinie Dillard.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 21, at 1 p.m. in New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, Va., with viewing from 12 noon until service. Visitation on Tuesday evening, June 20 from 5-7 o’clock in New Bethel Baptist Church, 3911 Big Bethel Road, Yorktown, Va.
