Edwin Curtis “Bubba” Forrest, 63, of Cobbs Creek, Virginia, passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022. He was a 1977 graduate of Mathews High School and was a retired self-employed waterman.
Curtis would want everyone to know his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ: “When life is too hard to stand, kneel.” Acts 2:21—“And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” His favorite Christian song was “Love Lifted Me” and he would often sing it in the shower. He had a great love of nature, family and his pets. He also was very fond of the rock band, Alice in Chains, the Rams, the Lakers and the Dodgers. But he was a huge fan of anything UVA, Wahoo!!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Carroll Forrest and Sarah Bertelle Pugh Smith; a niece, Geneva Ward, and two close cousins, Stephen Forrest and his son, Jeremy Forrest.
He is survived by his wife, Jody White Forrest; two daughters, Hillary Forrest-Wood (James) and Jennie Forrest; four grandsons, Casey Elliott, Jonathan, Jakson Kurtz and Andrew Jackson Hensley; a granddaughter, Kynleigh Wood; two sisters, Bonnie Bruno and Cindy Price, and a brother, Joseph Forrest.
No service is planned at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Mathews High School Athletic Department.
Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia, is assisting the family.
