The home of Mr. Lawrence Edwards situated near Green Point in this County was totally destroyed by fire on Thursday Nov. 18 between 12 and 2 p.m. All personal property, furniture, etc. was also destroyed. There was no insurance on any of the property.
Owing to the stormy weather there was no steamer from Norfolk to Mathews on Wednesday. This is the first time for years that such has been the case.

Mr. Tollie Brooks of Hallieford is at home with his family, after spending the season as a pilot of the fish steamer Blundon.
Hallieford is still alive and very busy preparing for a basket party to be held in the schoolhouse opposite Hallieford post office on Dec. 3, the proceeds for the benefit of Queenstown school house. Come everybody, and we will do our best to make the evening pass pleasantly.
