Edward Paul Ottarson III (Pee-Wee), age 75, of Gloucester, Virginia, passed away on April 29, 2023. He was born in Gloucester on November 11, 1947 to the late Edward and Eliza Ottarson.
He served in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1974. He then served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve, and received an honorable discharge in 1981. He retired from the Naval Weapons Station in 2001.
He was a lifelong member of Beulah Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Eliza; brother-in-law, Milton Belvin, and his great-granddaughter, Claire Hudgins. He is survived by his children, Paula Jean Huff (Ray), Mark Ottarson (Anita), and Jacqueline Ottarson. He is also survived by his siblings, Donnie (Melinda), Esther Belvin, Patricia Gills, Wanda Hudgins, Robert (Debbie) and Norman. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Marie Foster, Rebecca Hudgins (James), Cole Huff, Brittany Ottarson, Mackenzie Huff; great-grandson, Calvin Hudgins; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service, conducted by the Rev. Tom Cohick, was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Beulah Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory.
