A funeral for Edward Booker Diggs, 97, of Mathews, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Zion Baptist Church, Cardinal. He died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Riverside Convalescent Center, Mathews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kelly Diggs; parents, George and Mamie Diggs; brothers, Christopher and Wormley Diggs, and sister, Mamie Dawson.

Survivors include a daughter, Valerie D. Beverley, and a grandson.

Viewing will be held from 4-7 p.m. today at Forrest Brothers Funeral Home, Hudgins. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.

The service will be conducted by Pastor Johnny Wallace and the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs Sr. Interment will follow in Poplar Woods Cemetery, Cardinal.
