For the sake of our nation, can civility triumph at the polls next Tuesday?
We have approached the presidential election with less-than-excited vibes, expecting the rivers of mud that were slung, and made queasy by the resulting stench.
In a nation so divided, can civility prevail?
Can one side be gracious in winning, and the other accept its defeat? A peaceful transfer of power is a hallmark of our democracy, in which our leaders defer to the wishes of the voters, and the people give their consent to be governed.
Election Day should be a celebration of our democracy. May we rise to the occasion; and may civility win.
