Editorial: Go Cornhuskers!

Last week’s editorial “Let’s hear it for the women” incorrectly stated that the record-breaking attendance for a women’s sporting event was a women’s soccer game. Observant reader (and GHS girls’ volleyball coach) Sean McNash correctly pointed out that the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks game was a volleyball match.
Moreover, he said, not only has the University of Nebraska’s women’s volleyball team established this specific record, but it also holds the record for largest indoor crowd for a collegiate playoff volleyball match (18,755), largest indoor crowd for a collegiate regular season volleyball match (16,833), longest women’s volleyball home sellout streak (306 games), and has led the nation in attendance every season since 2013 (all details courtesy of huskers.com).
Talk about team spirit. Go Cornhuskers!
