Friends, please take a look at Section C today: our Holiday Calendar and Gift Guide. This section is a sure sign that the holidays are almost here.
The calendar made its debut in the Gazette-Journal in 1992 and has become a staple. It contains an ever-growing list of things to do, places to go, and people to see, between now and New Year’s Day. It contains all that we could find from Santa Claus appearances, to church cantatas, to concerts, to first day hikes. It’s a busy season.
Here we wish to call attention to the people that bring all these occasions to do. Most are volunteers, and all do it from a sense of community and of sharing the joy and bounty of the holiday season. Please take a moment to thank the organizers, wherever you find yourself in the next six weeks.
So, dive in. Section C is a good list, and we know it is not everything, but a choice selection of the opportunities ahead. Get out, enjoy yourselves, and may the holidays be merry and bright for you.
