Editor to discuss writing endings for novels

Editor Kristen Overman will be the guest of the Chesapeake Bay Writers during a meeting to be held at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at the Williamsburg Library, Room B, 515 Scotland Street, Williamsburg.
Overman will discuss writing endings for novels and memoirs. A member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, she said in a press release that she edits a wide range of projects, with her favorites being middle grade and young adult novels, “though I love digging into all types of stories, including picture books, adult fiction, and memoir.” She said she encourages the development of “an intriguing plot, compelling characters, and a strong narrative voice.”
Overman, who has a bachelor’s degree in English and Political Science, took advanced memoir and novel writing classes at Harvard and completed a copyediting certification program.
