Edith D. Forrest, 79, of Moon, Va., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, in Richmond.

She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Mathews, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for the Friendship Class. She also volunteered with Hands Across Mathews.

Survivors includes two daughters, Beverly Mills, Upper Marlboro, Md., and Tricia Leighton, Edgewater, Md.; a son, William A. Forrest, Moon; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, with burial to follow in H.C. Smither Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon-2 on Friday before the service. A reception will follow at Central United Methodist Church, Mathews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Mathews Volunteer Fire Dept., Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad or Hands Across Mathews.
