East Peer to host NAMI Peer-to-Peer training

The 84 East Peer Recovery Center is partnered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and offers free support and education to individuals and families with mental illness or addiction related issues.
East Peer’s primary objective is recovery, peer support and wellness of community members that suffer from drug/alcohol and/or mental health issues.
Besides its normal daily activities, East Peer will hold NAMI Peer-to-Peer training, starting in February.
NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a free, eight-session educational program for anyone with mental health conditions or their family members who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery.
Taught by trained leaders with lived experience, this program includes activities, discussions and informative videos. However, as with all NAMI programs, it does not include recommendations for treatment approaches.
