Early Thanksgiving

On Nov. 4, some members of Westville Christian Church (Mary Pope, Sue Henshaw and Charlene Moore) prepared an early Thanksgiving lunch for the members of Coast Guard Station-Milford Haven and for the sworn staff of the Mathews County Sheriff’s Office (including K9 Karma) as a thank-you for all law enforcement efforts in serving Mathews County. The group was treated to turkey, ham, stuffing, corn pudding, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, rolls and an array of desserts. The members stepped up because the Coast Guard base no longer has staff preparing meals for those assigned to Milford Haven and these cooks wanted to deliver some good “home cookin’” to the staff, a release stated. The sheriff’s office was also invited to indulge.
