The Gwynn’s Island Civic League Foundation is sponsoring “Dunk to Donate” during this year’s Gwynn’s Island Festival on Saturday, June 25.
The event, which is dedicated to the late Cricket Call, features local business and education leaders and county officials acting as “dunkees,” ready to be submerged by festival-goers, said a press release.
The group that raises the most money will receive a prize donated by Call’s family. Call was an active volunteer in the Gwynn’s Island Civic League and a leading organizer of the annual Gwynn’s Island Festival.
“This fundraiser should be a fun and high energy event where we can all laugh with each other after a couple of very challenging years,” said foundation chair John Mathiesen in a press release.
