The Gwynn’s Island Civic League Foundation’s “Dunk to Donate,” held at this year’s Gwynn’s Island Festival, was a success thanks to the “Dunkees” and “Dunkers,” said a press release, with more than $750 raised for the foundation, which offers educational scholarships and emergency grants to the community. The winner of “Cricket’s Celebrity Challenge,” above, was Superman (Tony Davis), who raised the most money, sponsored by M&M Building Supplies. Close behind were supervisor Mike Walls and County Administrator Ramona Wilson. Hyco House, Chesapeake Bank and Thomas Hunter Middle School provided sponsorships. The “Dunk to Donate” stickers that were given to all “Dunkers” were a hit, as well, said the release. They were donated by Coastwise Design.
