Dukes pick up two wins

The Gloucester varsity baseball team picked up two wins this past week against Heritage and Denbigh.
Gloucester defeated the Heritage Hurricanes, 15-3, last Thursday. The game ended at the fifth inning.
Almost every single member of Gloucester’s lineup got a hit, with four members having multiple hits. Catcher Hank Hardaway went 3-for-4 at the plate, with two RBIs. Camden Richardson also drove in four runs. Chase Carson was on the mound for the Dukes, earning the victory after only allowing one hit and striking out seven.
The Dukes won against the Denbigh Patriots Tuesday, 10-0. This game also ended early as Gloucester scored all 10 of its runs before the sixth inning. A seven-run third inning helped power Gloucester to the win, with five players getting RBIs during that inning. Colter Callis and Carson succeeded on the mound by pitching a no hitter.
This win brought Gloucester’s record to 10-1. The Dukes will face Denbigh again this afternoon at home.
