Dukes’ boys’ soccer leads district

The Gloucester High School boys’ varsity soccer team is excelling with a 9-1-1 record this season after the Dukes’ last three games, all shutout wins. This places the boys first in the Peninsula District as well as second in the 4A region.
Kecoughtan
The boys shut out Kecoughtan, 5-0, in an away game on Thursday, April 25.
In the first half, Gavin Blanks scored the first goal for GHS with an assist from Kohlby Wilson. GHS continued to dominate, scoring three more goals in the first half. Corey Skay scored two goals, with one being scored off a penalty kick and Ryan Williams also scored a goal.
In the second half, Blanks scored the last goal of the game with an assist from Wilson. The goalkeeper for the evening was Jesse Manheim.
Phoebus
The varsity boys’ soccer team won, 7-0, against Phoebus in an away game on Tuesday, April 30.In the first half, GHS scored four goals on the Phoebus Phantoms. K.J. Wolford scored the first goal, Max Bell scored a goal with an assist from Logan Hudgins, ...
