The Gloucester High School varsity baseball team defeated the Woodside Wolverines, 14-3, Tuesday night, bringing the team’s record to 5-1-1.
Austin Shackelford was again on the mound for the Dukes, giving up three runs, four hits and striking out seven batters. Gloucester’s batting lineup was successful Tuesday night, especially in the sixth inning when the Dukes scored seven runs. Shortstop Camden Richardson led Gloucester with two hits in four at bats, with Dylan Deyoung, Hayden Simmons, Shackelford and Braden Hudgins also getting hits.
Gloucester looks to improve its record to 6-1-1 as the Dukes face Woodside this afternoon at home.
