The Gloucester High School varsity baseball team finished its regular season with a 17-2 record Tuesday evening after securing back-to-back wins against Woodside.
The Dukes defeated the Wolverines, 13-3, last Thursday on the road. Gloucester had 16 hits and one error, while Woodside had seven hits and four errors.
Austin Shackelford (9-0) pitched. Dylan Deyoung had three hits for two at-bats, followed by Hank Hardaway and Chandler Howlett with two hits and three at-bats each and Shield with two hits for four at-bats.
Gloucester beat Woodside, 14-4, again Tuesday at home. The Dukes had 12 hits and one error, while the Wolverines had five hits and one error.
Landon Morris pitched the game. Enoch had four hits for five at-bats, followed by Deyoung and Hard.
Post-season
The Dukes are scheduled to play Monday in the regional semifinals at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton, beginning at 11 a.m. away with two hits for three at-bats each.
