The Gloucester High School varsity baseball team defeated the Kecoughtan Warriors last Thursday, 13-4.
Almost the entire Gloucester batting lineup managed at least one hit with center fielder Dylan Deyoung leading the team with two hits and three RBIs. The Dukes achieved 10 runs by the end of the second inning after being down, 2-1, in the first inning.
Chase Carson was on the mound for the Dukes, allowing three hits and four runs while pitching five innings. Kecoughtan’s defense struggled throughout the game with multiple Gloucester runs coming from Kecoughtan errors.The Dukes will return to the field Tuesday afternoon as they travel to Woodside High School to face the Wolverines.
