Gloucester High School golfers continue to lead the Peninsula District and held an 85-stroke advantage over second-place Woodside going into the match at Deer Run yesterday.
The Wolverines did some catching up to the Dukes with their first-place score of 306 at The Hamptons on Sept. 15. Gloucester was second with a team score of 317, followed by Kecoughtan with 331 and Denbigh with 340. Grinnan Haskins led the Dukes on the par 70 course with a 78. Trevor Rudisill had a 79, and Zach Robb and Zach Kounse tied at 80. Also representing Gloucester on the course, Kyle Flippin and Tyler Foster each shot 86.
Robb was second in individual PD averages with 77.71 after play at The Hamptons. Haskins was ranked fourth with 80.71 and Rudisill was ninth with 85.84. The district plays its final match at The Woodlands on Wednesday and the Dukes are headed to the Eastern Region Tournament at Nansemond River on Oct. 4.
