Dug In Farms to celebrate Earth Day

Dug In Farms will celebrate Earth Day with a weekend of environmentally oriented presentations from Friday through Sunday.
On Friday, Bartlett Tree Experts will give away bald cypress trees to those in attendance. “Each year, Bartlett attends this event, which shows their commitment to planting native trees throughout the community,” said Dug In Farms owner Carolyn Quinn. “Over the years, they have handed out hundreds of free trees to help sustain the local environment.”
The Lancaster County Planning and Land Use Office will be on hand Friday and Saturday with educational information regarding the county’s Chesapeake Bay Preservation Program.
Also on Saturday, Northern Neck Master Naturalists will host an information booth. Their volunteers will answer questions.
Ap Pollard, a Lancaster High School student studying carpentry, will be on site Saturday with traditional bluebird houses, as well as bird habitats carved from tree trunks, for sale.
