Preparations are underway for a June 17 dual party primary in Virginia, featuring candidates for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general, as well as Virginia House of Delegates’ seats and local offices.
Local seats on the ballot will include the at-large, Petsworth and York District seats on the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors and two at-large seats on the Mathews County Board of Supervisors.
The majority of Gloucester and Mathews counties is in the 68th House of Delegates’ district, which is currently represented by Republican Keith Hodges. Gloucester’s Hayes/Gloucester Point area is in the 69th district, which is currently represented by Republican Chad Green.
Candidate lists for the June 17 Republican and Democratic party primaries will be posted the week of April 14 on the Virginia Department of Elections’ website.
Early in-person voting in the primaries will be held May 2 through June 14, with mail-in ballots also available.
