Drive-thru testing for COVID-19 will be offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Thursday, June 4, at the Middlesex County Health Department, 2780 General Puller Highway, Saluda.
The event is targeted at Middlesex and Mathews residents. The nasal swab test will be administered to anyone age 16 or older who wants to be tested, said Dr. Richard Williams, director of the Three Rivers Health District. However, there are a limited number of tests available, and they will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis.
There is no charge for the testing, but some paperwork will have to be filled out, said Williams. No masks are necessary, and both symptomatic and asymptomatic people will be tested.
He said that law enforcement will manage traffic, with people remaining in their vehicles.
The district is working with the Gloucester County Emergency Services to schedule a similar testing event there.
