Sienna Rowe of Urbanna and her 13-year-old Westphalian gelding, “Lightfire Just Do It,” won the top prize in the Junior Individual Championship at the 2023 International Equestrian Federation’s North American Youth Dressage Championships presented by the United States Dressage Federation in Traverse City, Michigan, on Aug. 12. Rowe and her horse had a final score of 70.676 percent. She was also presented with the Amanda Johnson “Pursuit of Excellence” Memorial Trophy, awarded to the Junior Rider who earns the highest combined average score in the three dressage tests: FEI Junior Team, Individual, and Musical Freestyle. According to the website of the U.S. Equestrian Federation, the FEI North American Youth Championships is the premier equestrian competition in North America for ages 12 to 25, allowing youth to compete in a format similar to that of the Olympic games and other international senior championships.
