Artist Steph Brown Soles is teaching a series of two- and three-day drawing workshops from September through December at the Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews. All classes will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The first workshop, Intermediate Drawing, will be held Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 25-27. The workshop will help those who have already taken Beginner Drawing to develop their skills and use of materials through a series of exercises involving line, value, gesture, proportion, perspective, texturing, and shadow. There will be group critiques and discussions. The cost is $225.
Intro to Colored Pencil will be held Thursday and Friday, Oct. 19 and 20. Students will become comfortable with the medium and explore colored pencil techniques that are abstract, loose or tightly detailed, photorealistic, or soft and impressionistic. They will also practice such techniques as layering, burnishing and blending. The cost is $150.
