Drake Hall builds hammock stands at park for Eagle Scout project

Gloucester High School senior Drake Hall recently completed his Eagle Scout project, building four hammock stands at Machicomoco State Park, Hayes.
Hall has been a part of Boy Scout Troop 133 for the last five years and is currently a Life Scout. This project brings him one step closer to achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
Eagle is the highest rank one can achieve in Boy Scouts. To become an Eagle Scout you must obtain a certain amount of ranks and merit badges, complete an Eagle Scout project, and go before the board for approval. Hall knew that for his Eagle Scout project, he wanted to put his mark on the park.
“I went to Ranger Josh [Chief Ranger Josh Mazza-tenta] to ask what projects I could do around the park,” said Hall. “He gave me a list of projects and I chose that one. I didn’t want it to be super easy.”
