Friends of Dragon Run will conduct a trash pickup from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 8. Volunteers will collect trash around the three bridges that cross Dragon Run: the James “Jimmy” Morgan Bridge on Route 17, Wares Bridge on Route 602, and the Mascot Bridge on Route 603.
“Dragon Run is a pristine and rare watershed that runs through Essex, Middlesex, King and Queen, and Gloucester counties,” noted FODR President Jeff Wright. “Dragon Run is a treasure that residents in these counties can be proud of. Trash pickups are one way that we can keep the Dragon pristine.”
Volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of the Rappahannock Community College, Glenns. Each volunteer will be provided with a safety vest, trash bags and a pickup stick.
