An economic initiative has identified additional infrastructure as a necessity in order to enlarge business communities on the Middle Peninsula.
Harrison Bresee, regional economic planner for the Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission, said a public review period on the draft document will run from May 15 to June 16.
Four public meetings will be held to discuss the region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) as follows:
—Monday, June 3, at Wilson House on the Virginia Institute of Marine Science campus, Gloucester Point;
—Tuesday, June 4, Essex County School Board office, Tappahannock;
—Wednesday, June 5, at MPPDC headquarters, 125 Bowden Street, Saluda; and,
—Thursday, June 6, King and Queen Woman’s Club House, Allen’s Circle, King and Queen.
The draft CEDS document will be available May 15 to download at www.mppdc.com or request a DVD from the MPPDC office at 758-2311.
