Mathews Memorial Library visited Mathews Elementary School on Tuesday to celebrate Read Across America/Dr. Seuss Day. Students in MaryBeth Burroughs’ seventh grade class visited the elementary school wearing Cat in the Hat hats to read Dr. Seuss books to children in grades Pre-K through 3. This is the 15th year the library has purchased award-winning Theodor Geisel books for this program, provided them to the older children in advance, and donated them to the elementary classrooms.
