Dr. Henry Carmichael Rowe Sr., 67, of Gloucester, passed away on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014.

He was born on July 27, 1947 in Heathsville, Va., to the late Lindsay B. and Armintrus Sanford Rowe.

Dr. Rowe was the Medical Director of Riverside Long Term Health Care. He came to Gloucester 39 years ago to join Dr. Fernando Diaz in his practice and has been a Medical Examiner for many years in Newport News and Gloucester.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bernice B. Rowe; son, Henry Carmichael Rowe Jr. and his wife Amy; daughter, Mary C. Rowe; sister, Mary Lou Hartsell, and grandchildren, Sarah E. Rowe, Amelia Rowe-Bardeen, and Oliver Rowe-Bardeen.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Andrews Funeral Home.
