Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of the Middle Peninsula will hold its first big fundraising event, “Rockin’ for Literacy,” from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Ware River Yacht Club.
Doors open at 2 p.m. and Chapel Creek Band will play from 3:30 until the conclusion of the event. There will also be vendors and food trucks, including Gloucester Brewing Company, Cool Concessions, Wine By The Glass, Bouncin’ Buoys, among others.
Tickets are $20 per person and include admission into the event, a drink ticket and will provide a child one whole year of free books.
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library provides children birth to five years of age with a quality, age-appropriate book each month at no cost to families. The program inspires a love of books, reading and learning that helps lay a foundation for literacy.
