Dorothy Sherrard Pugh, 87, of Mathews, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Mathews, and a graduate of Mathews High School.

After graduation, she worked as a telephone operator prior to her marriage to William Robert “Bobby” Pugh. She then became a dedicated wife and mother, creating a loving home for her family. Later, she drove a school bus for Gloucester County Day School, now known as Ware Academy. Dorothy loved gardening and taking care of the many precious pets she had over the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby, and is survived by her son, Steve Pugh (Betty J.); daughter, Sherrard Lynn Hudgins (Robbie); grandchildren, Anna Nicole, Lauren Ashley, Daniel, and Cliff, and her beloved pug, April.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in the mausoleum chapel at Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Dutton. Following the service, a reception was held at Central United Methodist Church.
