Dorothy Doretha Bayford, 56, of Gloucester, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021. Her family was by her side. Dorothy was born on March 29, 1965, in Norfolk, Virginia. Despite a difficult upbringing, instead of making excuses for what she couldn’t do or didn’t have, she always chose to focus on the positive aspects of every situation.

With her positive attitude and spirited personality, she worked hard, she lived a life of integrity, and she taught her kids to do the same. She was the most selfless person one could know. She was an entrepreneur and enjoyed building several businesses with her husband Brian. Most of her time was spent fighting for her country, or doing something for her kids or grandkids. She loved nothing more than God, her family and her country.

Dorothy was the loving wife of her husband, Brian Bayford, and she was the loving mother of eight children, Jacqueline Harris, Chris Yarnell, Christina Tchagalidze, Justin Yarnell, Janae Bayford, Jazzmine Bayford, Ciara Helm and Cirrenety Stutler along with 18 grandchildren and two on the way. One of her favorite Bible verses that she instilled in her children was Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
